The BigBinary Off-Campus interview screening round being conducted on March 5, 2023, is 100% remote. During the screening round, the software will take random screenshots from time to time and for this, the candidates need to give permission to the software to take pictures using the webcam.
This is the strategy we followed in the previous years and it worked. However, because of chatGPT, conducting remote screening like this becomes a lot of challenging. We wouldn't be able to tell who took help from chatGPT and who did not. To solve this problem this year the screening round will be done a bit differently. Our software itself has been enhanced with new features to detect potentially plagiarized code.
On top of that, we will have two screening rounds this year. The first screening round will be conducted on March 5, 2023, at 3 PM IST. A second screening round will be conducted on March 12, 2023, at 3 PM IST.
Both screening rounds will be 100% remote. It means you can take these screening rounds from anywhere as long as you have Internet access.
The second screening round would be of 40 minutes and you would be presented with only one DSA question to solve. However, for the second screening round, you would be paired with a BigBinary employee and you would be required to join a zoom call so that the BigBinary employee can see you. BigBinary employees will also be recording the zoom call for later reviews.
The idea here is to detect if the candidate is able to clear the screening round II without any malpractices. Any candidate who leaves the seat in the middle of the screening round II would be disqualified. Similarly, if we notice that you are not looking at the computer screen but looking somewhere else and if we think you are trying to take help then also the candidate would be disqualified.
As mentioned earlier there would be only one DSA question in the second screening round which you need to solve in less than 40 minutes. So during that duration please keep your attention on the computer screen and on solving the problem.
Any candidate who doesn't attend both screening rounds will be disqualified. Because of the large number of candidates, we can't change the date or the timing of these two screening rounds.
